WHO WE ARE
The Center for Avian Adoption, Rescue and Education, or CAARE, is an all-volunteer, North Dakota, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation devoted to the welfare of companion parrots.
We are family oriented in nature, and both individual and family memberships are available, which helps us to continue our mission. Along with finding our adoptable parrots loving homes, we are also dedicated to teaching the public about companion parrots. We also love requests for on-site visits to schools, nursing homes, etc.!
If you are interested in learning about parrots or adopting one of the parrots in our care, we are excited to help!
To reach out and educate the public on the appropriate health care and general well-being of companion parrots. To find homes for displaced companion parrots through our adoption program. To provide a friendly and caring environment for our members and guests to socialize and learn from one another.
CAARE was originally named the Red River Valley Pet Bird Club (RRVPBC). The RRVPBC began organizing in Fargo, North Dakota, in back 2001.
Then, in 2002, the members of RRVPBC incorporated as a North Dakota non-profit corporation in 2002 and changed the name to the Center for Avian Adoption, Rescue, and Education in 2003.
In 2006, the corporation was granted status as a federal tax exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
