My name is Akira! I am a DNA'd male Blue and Gold Macaw. I just turned 5 in February. I am partial to men but will step up for a female. I love to shred paper and chew up wooden blocks. Among my favorite toys is a toy with a bell. Unlike Takara I am a little more leery of showers and or bath time. I can unscrew nuts and bolts to my enclosure. Quick link hooks need to be tightened extremely tight or I will have them undone allowing the toy to drop to the bottom of my enclosure. I enjoy hanging out with my friend Takara while out on a stand. Because I am a Macaw I can get very loud and will not do well in an apartment.

A pre-adoption, home visit by a member of our Adoption Committee is required for every adoption.  

We charge an Adoption Fee for each adoptable parrot.  Adoption Fees are based on the discretion of the Board of Directors.
