Volunteering

Our shelter is always in need of volunteers and there are many of ways you can help.

The first and most common way to help is by signing up on our calendar for the days/times you are available to assist with the daily care of the parrots which includes changing food and water bowls, changing cage papers, and some basic shelter maintenance.

Other ways to help are by volunteering in our shelter or avian warehouse store during public hours, by helping with weekly floor cleaning and/or deeper shelter cleaning, by making toys to keep the parrots occupied, helping to wash and/or put together cages, sorting and washing used toys, by stopping in to visit and play with the parrots, and, if you have the necessary skills, by helping to cut new perches for cages or help repair cages in need.

If you are ready to volunteer, fill out and submit our Volunteer Application found HERE and you will be contacted concerning attendance at one of our monthly orientation sessions.  The Up and Coming Orientation dates for New Volunteers are:

October 13th, 2025  - 7:00 pm

November 10th, 2025   - 7:00 pm

December 8th, 2025   - 7:00 pm

January 12th, 2026   - 7:00 pm

February 9th, 2026   - 7:00 pm  

March 9th, 2026   - 7:00 pm

April 13th, 2026   - 7:00 pm

Orientations will be at 7pm going forward due to schedule changes for our Board Members.

 

Volunteer Applications may also be picked up at the shelter or emailed upon request.
